Men play an important role in the prevention of family violence. This workshop will provide activities and guidance on messaging to engage men in efforts to prevent the use of violence.

This workshop will be in addition to the Men’s Project presentation at the Summit, and it is recommended that workshop attendees have also attended this.

Community Respect Equality Summit

Date: Thursday 27th May 2021
Time: 8.30am – 5:00pm
Location: Queen Elizabeth II Community Centre
Cost: Tickets are $110 per person (which include morning, afternoon tea and lunch).

The Community Respect & Equality Summit will focus on a community-wide approach to preventing family violence in Geraldton. The Summit will bring together local business and industry, with family violence professionals, advocates, survivors, researchers, educators, and trainers, and unite a single purpose; provide the inspiration, guidance and tools required to support local people, business and industry to take preventative action in their workplaces.

Summit will provide professional development on the primary prevention of family violence which aims to stop a problem before it starts.

Welcome Reception – Community Respect & Equality Summit

Prior to the Community Respect & Equality Summit, we will be hosting a Welcome Reception that is free for anyone to attend. Come and learn about the CRE project, and network with like minded people who want to prevent family violence in their community. With guest speaker, Damian Martin – Former Perth Wildcats Skipper, Global Roaming Pilbara Foundation and 16 Days in WA – Stop Violence Against Women ambassador.
