People living in rural and remote areas of the Midwest are being reminded that mental health and counselling services are available to them through Desert Blue Connect.


The services are free and can be accessed by anyone aged 13 years and older, in the Shires of Morawa, Mingenew, Three Springs, Yalgoo, Carnamah, Coorow and Perenjori.

Desert Blue Connect Rural Support Service Officer Serina said “We offer an open and safe place for people to reach out for help and I approach each client with empathy and genuine care for their well-being.”

“Whether you’re experiencing mental health issues, impacted by major life events or having personal troubles, you don’t have to cope with it alone,” said Serina.

Serina has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and is undertaking a Graduate Diploma in Couple and Family Therapy and a Masters in Counselling.
