What does family mean to you?

National Families Week (May 15th to 21st) is a week of celebrating families, a time to reflect on what our family means to us and how we appreciate all of the things that they do. This year, to celebrate the unique and diverse families that we have in our community, we are thinking a little differently. We don’t get to hold the usual events with lots of kiddos running about so we’re thinking outside the box and holding a story competition to get you and your family bring creative together. The theme is “What does your family means to you?”

Families with children aged 4 -12 years can enter for chance to win a fabulous families gift pack, all you need to do is download the story templates (see bottom of post) and get writing or drawing to tell us what crazy, unique or special thing that your family does.

Kids too young to write? Don’t worry, they can draw us a picture; though mums, dads, grandparents or carers do need to write what the drawing is about for us to make sure we understand the story.

Scan or take a photo of the story or picture and send it to us along with your child’s name, age and a contact number to megand@desertblueconnect.org.au or you can deliver it to us at 25 Chapman Road (opposite McDonalds in town). We may post entries on our social media pages so please make a note if you do not want your child’s name published with their picture or story.
So get creative and tell us why your family is special to you.

Entries must be received by midnight May 22nd 2020 with the winners contacted and announced on our Facebook page May 25th 2020.
