Join us for the WAVe, our annual walk against violence event!
This Year’s Theme: “The Violence we don’t see.” Bystander interventions for the prevention of all forms forms of violence.

Each year, WAVe advocates for awareness and change, and this year’s theme is “The Violence We Don’t See,” focusing on the critical role of bystander interventions in preventing all forms of violence. We are committed to highlighting how individuals and organisations can work together to address hidden violence and support those affected. By fostering a community of active bystanders, we aim to create a safer environment for everyone.

What To Expect:

Welcome to Country & Opening Speeches: Opening addresses focusing on this year’s theme, “The Violence We Don’t See”, and the role of bystander interventions in preventing all forms of violence.
Remembrance Moment: Join us in a minute’s silence to honour the victims and families affected by domestic homicide this year.
Symbolic Walk: Take part in a peaceful walk through town to amplify our message and stand united against violence.
Sausage Sizzle: After the walk, enjoy a free networking sausage sizzle with fellow participants.
Reflection Paddle Out: Following the WAVe event, join an optional paddle out organised by Shaun from A Glassy Day Surf Coaching. Reflect on the event’s significance in this unique activity. Boards and wetsuits are provided. Please note: The paddle out is not hosted by Desert Blue Connect, and therefore Desert Blue Connect holds no liability for this part of the event.
